Ombudsman
The Ombuds serves as a designated neutral or impartial dispute resolution practitioner whose major function is to provide independent, impartial, confidential and informal assistance to university staff and faculty. The Ombuds role has a long and honorable tradition as a means of protecting against abuse, bias and other improper treatment. Serving as a designated neutral, the Ombudsp is neither an advocate for any individual or the organization. Instead, the Ombuds acts as a source of information and referral. The incumbent aids in answering questions and assists in the resolution of concerns and critical situations.
